Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer (junior) (m/f/d) - remote and on-site

The Machine Learning Team at Kopernikus Automotive GmbH is hiring for a full-time position of Machine Learning / Computer Vision Engineer (junior). Our headquarters are located in Leipzig, Germany, but we are currently working remotely and on-site for our various projects all over Germany. 


What we do:

  • Create and support perception algorithms to drive cars from external cameras only. 

  • Make sure that perception works perfectly in all locations.

  • Collect and process data to train our models.

  • Find edge cases when perception does not work well (localisation and objects detection).

  • Test perception is various conditions.

  • Improve calibration techniques.

  • Experiment with new cameras and ML models.

  • Improve existing algorithms.

  • Fulfill new requirements for perception. 


What you bring to the table:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Ability to write high quality and well structured Python code.

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of software development.

  • Ability to learn fast.

  • Passion to drive prototypes to a finished product. We are a small team and every member has a big influence on the final product.

  • Ability to travel to projects locations for calibration, perception configuration and tests. Travel time varies from project to project and during some months it can require more than 50% of the working time.


To stand out of a crowd:

  • Good grasp of the basic concepts of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Computer Vision.

  • Rust knowledge.

  • Experience with camera and Lidar calibration.

  • Experience in product development.
