Machine Learning Specialist

JOB

Kopernikus Automotive is a car systems development company in Berlin (Germany). Founded by a team of people with a strong background in all areas of software development and software-based services we believe that the current status in the German car industry needs to be challenged. We develop a technology stack to convert current passenger cars into self-driving cars today. We create a middleware and invite 3rd party developers to contribute their components to the "best-of-breed" autonomous system running on today's passenger cars.
Additionally, we also develop our own AI/ machine learning components running on our middleware.

We are growing at light-speed and are always looking for hungry, talented engineers/ programmers willing to push the boundaries of what is considered possible. You will be working in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment and will collaborate in international teams in the highly competitive field of autonomous vehicles and their drive-by-wire adaptation.

Machine Learning Specialist (m/f)

(Berlin)

Machine intelligence and autonomous vehicles go hand in hand, and will one day soon free humans from the need to drive vehicles. With our production autonomous driving package deployments, our data collection ability has grown substantially. This data is waiting for world-class machine learning engineers to build revolutionary algorithms that finally bring self-driving vehicles to the world.

What we are looking for:

  • Show us what you've built before. Previous experience training your own deep neural networks a must, preferably in an automotive stack. Think CNNs, RNNs, bayesian inference, one-shot learning and more
  • You have real-world experience of developing robotic systems and have deep familiarity with the whole stack of high-level decision making, motion planning, and low-level control
  • Ideally you’ve handled complex traffic interactions and negotiations in your previous life
  • A love for the classic planning techniques, domains like A*, RRTs, probabilistic planning and more
  • A want to embrace future, scalable planning techniques with deep learning: LSTMs, reinforcement learning and more
  • Strong Python knowledge is a must
  • Experience with ROS is preferred, though not required
  • Experience deploying production machine learning models is a plus
  • BSc or an Advanced Degree MSc, MEng, MRes or PhD in computer science, electronics, telecommunications engineering or similar fields

Contract length: permanent

Rate: Negotiable

Location: Berlin, Germany

If this sounds like the right role for you (or a colleague) - please forward us your CV.  Are you a software developer not fitting the profile but eager to get your hands dirty on self-driving cars? We are always looking for tech people to join our team.  We look forward to hearing from you.
